Any electrical item requires maintenance and so a UPS also requires maintenance to protect the owner of the UPS from losing data due to power cuts. Thus a UPS maintenance contract has to be drafted to give this responsibility to the UPS maintenance service provider. The document is also sometimes legal in nature and prevents any misunderstanding between the two parties.
